Pink And White Loaf Cake - cooking recipe

1 3/4 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
Few drops red food coloring
Preparation

Sift flour and measure; add baking powder and salt and sift again; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar together until light. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add flour mixture, with milk, stir in vanilla and almond flavoring. To half of the batter add red food coloring to make a delicate pink. Spoon batter into greased 9 x 3 x 5-inch loaf pan, alternating the plain and pink batters. Bake at 325\u00b0 for one hour. Cool on rack 10 minutes; remove from pan.
