Tomato Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    dishpan full of tomatoes (about 2 1/2 gal.), peeled and cut into chunks about 1-inch cube
    2 c. vinegar
    7 or 8 pods hot pepper
    7 or 8 pods bell pepper, chopped
    6 or 8 onions, chopped
    1 Tbsp. salt
    about 1/4 c. pickling spice, tied in clean bag
    6 or 8 c. sugar
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in large pan and cook slowly 2 or 3 hours. Add
    sugar
    during
    last 15 minutes of cooking time to prevent scorching.\tFill
    jars
    and seal.
    This is a must for peas and butter beans.
