Cabbage Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 good size cabbages
    10 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. whole allspice
    1 tsp. cayenne pepper
    12 medium size onions
    1/2 gal. white vinegar
    2 Tbsp. white mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Tie cloves and allspice in thin cloth and crush.
    Put little bags in boiling vinegar.
    Grind cabbage and onions.
    Cover with salt and let stand overnight.
