Hillbilly Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. dry beans
    1 lb. ham pieces
    1 garlic clove
    1 large chopped onion
    1 large can tomatoes
    juice of 1 lemon
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 pod green or red pepper, chopped
Preparation
    Wash beans.
    Cover with water for 3 hours or overnight.
    Drain and add beans to 2 quarts fresh water.
    Add all other ingredients. Cook all day (or at least 4 hours).
    Good with fried corn bread. Enjoy!
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
