Scalloped Potatoes With Bacon And Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 garlic clove, halved
    8 large baking potatoes, peeled and halved
    6 oz. bacon, chopped
    salt and pepper
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. heavy cream
    1/4 tsp. celery seed
    4 oz. shredded Cheddar
Preparation
    Cook potatoes until cooked through.
    Chill.
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Reserve fat.
    Rub casserole dish with garlic.
    Discard. Grate potatoes.
    Put half into dish.
    Season with salt and pepper.
    Put on 1/2 chopped bacon and 2 tablespoons fat.
    Repeat with remaining potatoes and bacon.
    Combine milk and cream.
    Pour over potatoes.
    Sprinkle with celery seed and cheese.
    Cover with aluminum foil.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes.
    Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
