Cucumber Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    4 Tbsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. powdered alum
    4 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers; put in a gallon jug (enough to fill it).
    Put salt, powdered alum and pickling spices in jug with cucumbers; then fill jug with white vinegar.
    Put lid on and let stand 3 months.
    After 3 months, wash quickly after taking out of jug. Slice and put light cups sugar over slices.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Put back in jar with liquid made from sugar dissolving.
