Country Chicken Soup(8 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 onions, chopped
    3 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. basil
    1/2 tsp. parsley flakes
    2 to 2 1/2 lb. whole fryers
    1/4 c. converted rice
    4 stalks celery, sliced
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    5 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Place all ingredients, except rice, in slow cooker in order listed.
    Cover; cook for 1 hour on high, then on low for 8 to 9 hours.
    One hour before serving, remove chicken and cook slightly. Remove meat from bones; return meat to slow cooker.
    Add rice; cover and cook for 1 hour on high.
