Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. pickles, thinly sliced
    16 small onions, sliced
    1 c. salt
    water
    3 tsp. turmeric
    4 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. celery seed
    4 c. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cover pickles and onions with water and salt.
    Let soak for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    Mix together 10 cups water, turmeric, mustard seed, celery seed, vinegar and sugar and pour over pickles.
    Heat and put in jars and seal.
