Queen Elizabeth Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 c. dates
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts

Preparation

Mix together sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla.
Add flour, baking powder and soda.
Next, add remaining ingredients.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
