Onion Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large onions, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    1/8 tsp. salt
    8 oz. grated Cheddar cheese, divided in half
    1/2 tsp. dill weed
    8 oz. sour cream
    1 Jiffy corn muffin mix
    15 oz. creamed corn (undrained)
    hot sauce to taste (4 to 15 squirts)
    1 egg
    1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Saute onion in margarine and cool. Add sour cream, salt, dill weed and half of cheese. Mix muffin mix with corn, egg and milk. Pour in 13 x 9-inch cake pan, then onion mixture, then top with last half of shredded cheese. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
