Apple Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped raw apples
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

In a bowl, cream the sugars and shortening. Add eggs, beating one in at a time.
In second small bowl, add vanilla to the water and add to sugar mixture alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Stir in apples and nuts.
Pour into a 9 x 13-inch greased and floured cake pan.
Mix up caramel topping and spread on batter before baking. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
