Chewy Pecan Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 egg
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans

Preparation

Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
Stir together egg, brown sugar and vanilla. Quickly stir in flour, soda and salt. Add nuts.
Spread in pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes. Should be soft in center when removed from oven.
Do not overbake. Leave in pan and cut into 2-inch squares.
Makes 16 squares.
