Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    3 c. all-purpose plain flour
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1/3 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar gradually.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating each time.
    Add vanilla.
    Add soda to buttermilk. Add flour and milk alternately to other ingredients.
    Bake in tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    This cake can be frozen.
    It is good plain and/or frosted.
