Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 ham hock
    1 c. dried lentils
    1 carrot
    1 medium onion
    salt and pepper to taste
    garlic to taste
Preparation
    Cook ham hock until meat pulls apart.
    Remove meat from bone. Pour lentils into the ham stock.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Dice onion and carrot; add to stock.
    Cook until lentils are tender.
