Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. yellow corn meal
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 dash or 1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1 c. milk or a little more
    1/4 c. softened shortening
Preparation
    Mix dry goods in a medium bowl.
    Soften shortening in the baking pan or iron skillet in oven at 300\u00b0.
    Pour into the bowl with the dry goods.
    Turn oven to 425\u00b0.
    Add egg and milk.
    Stir. Pour into pan/skillet.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until golden on top.
