New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. diet margarine
    2 c. cubed potatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. bacon flavored bits
    dash of pepper
    2 cans (7 oz. each) minced clams
    1 c. evaporated milk
Preparation
    In large saucepan, cook onion in margarine until tender.
    Add potatoes, salt, bacon bits, pepper and 1 cup water.
    Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
    Stir in clams and milk.
    Heat.
    Do not boil.
    Makes 6 servings, about 130 calories each.
