Green Mountain Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Cream shortening in bowl.
    Add sugar, molasses and egg.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Sift remaining ingredients together.
    Stir into creamed mixture.
    Roll into small balls; dip in additional sugar. Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 (preheated) for 10 minutes.
    They will still be soft when you take them out.
    They firm as they cool.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
