Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken in bite size pieces
    1 bunch celery, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    4 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    1 bell pepper, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sweet peas
    1 pt. jar mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    grated cheese (Cheddar)
    1 jar Hormel real bacon bits
Preparation
    Mix together the mayonnaise and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
    Layer the first 6 items in order listed, then spread mayonnaise mixture over top, sealing edges.
    Sprinkle cheese and bacon bits over the top.
    Refrigerate and let sit overnight.
