Noodle-Pineapple Kugel - cooking recipe

1/4 lb. margarine
1 (4 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar, with 2 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
8 oz. broad noodles
1 medium can crushed pineapple
corn flake crumbs
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/3 to 1/2 c. milk
6 medium cooking apples, peeled and cored (about 5 oz. each)
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Nadine Shirley, one of the volunteers known as Apple Pandowdies, passed away before last Apple Jubilee in Waverly, Missouri.
Her daughter, Pat Maycock, continues Nadine's tradition of baking apple dumplings for the celebration, using local Jonathan apples.
Baking powder lightens the flaky pastry.
