Hopi Fried Green Chiles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 fresh green chile pods
    4 Tbsp. salt pork drippings
    shortening
Preparation
    Wash, clean and remove stems from fresh green chiles, but not seeds.
    Cut a little slot in each side which lets the steam out when frying.
    Heat 2 tablespoons of pork drippings in frying pan. Add chiles.
    Turn often until chiles are light brown.
    Add shortening to complete cooking.
    Eat hot or cold, allowing 2 per person.
