Quick Minestrone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 slices bacon, cut in thin strips
    1 large onion, chopped
    1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 carrots, thinly sliced
    1 (49 1/2 oz.) large can chicken broth
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. white pepper
    4 oz. vermicelli
    1/2 lb. snap peas
    1/4 c. chopped parsley
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    In a 5-quart kettle, cook bacon over medium heat until it begins to brown.
    Mix in onion, mushrooms, garlic and carrots. Cook, stirring, until onion is soft.
    Add broth, tomatoes, salt, basil, thyme and pepper.
    Bring to boiling.
    Cover.
    Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
