Apricot Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. dried apricots
    1 3/4 c. sugar, divided
    1/4 c. water
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. margarine
    1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook and drain apricots.
    Combine with 3/4 cup sugar and water; cook about 5 minutes, stirring, until slightly thickened. Set aside.
