Steak Soup, Kansas Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, minced
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 large carrot, chopped
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    1 can tomatoes, chopped
    3 qt. beef stock or consomme
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    1 1/2 c. light cream or half and half
Preparation
    Brown meat in butter; stir in flour until smooth.
    Add onion, carrot and celery; cook 10 minutes, stirring often.
    Add remaining ingredients except cream; bring to a boil.
    Simmer 1 to 3 hours. (The longer the soup cooks, the better it is.)
    Add cream during last 5 minutes of cooking.
