German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium potatoes
    6 slices bacon
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    3/4 c. hot water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt to taste
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until jackets are tender.
    Fry bacon until crisp; save 4 tablespoons of fat.
    Drain bacon well and crumble (set aside).
    Heat bacon fat and stir in flour and onion.
    Cook slowly.
    Continue to stir for a minute.
    Off heat, add water and vinegar; mix well.
    Return to low heat and cook, stirring, until smooth and thickened.
    Add sugar, salt, pepper and bacon.
    Cook for 10 minutes.
