Ingredients

1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. vinegar
2 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 (16 oz.) can sliced beets, drained
1/8 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
Preparation

Combine sugar and cornstarch in saucepan; stir well. Gradually add water, stirring until smooth.
Stir in vinegar and oil; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add beets, salt and pepper and cook until thoroughly heated, about 10 minutes.
