Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    3 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. ground black walnuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolks one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add alternately with milk and vanilla, beating after each addition.
    Fold in nuts, then stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes or until done.
    Remove from pan to wire rack and drizzle glaze over hot cake.
