Microwave Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. suga
    1/2 c. corn syrup
    dash of salt
    2 c. dry roasted peanuts
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Put sugar, corn syrup, 1/2 cup water, salt and peanuts in a 2-quart saucepan or casserole.
    Cook on High (maximum power) for 5 minutes; stir.
    Cook on High (maximum power) for 13 to 15 minutes or until the syrup separates and threads.
    This is the hard crack stage or 300\u00b0 on a candy thermometer.
    Check temperature with thermometer several times during the last few minutes.
    Don't leave thermometer in oven while cooking.
