Butter Brickle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3 1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    7/8 c. milk (3/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp.)
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. unbeaten egg whites (3 large)
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, powder and salt.
    Add remaining ingredients, except egg whites.
    Beat for 2 minutes, scraping bottom and sides frequently.
    Add the unbeaten egg whites; beat for 2 more minutes.
    Pour into prepared pans.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
