Cinnamon Twists - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sour cream
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 large unbeaten egg
    1 cake crumbled, compressed yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast *
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Bring sour cream to a boil and remove from heat.
    Stir in, until well blended, the shortening, sugar, soda and salt.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Add egg and yeast.
    Stir until yeast is dissolved.
    Mix in the flour with spoon.
