Fat-Free Fudge Brownies(Yield: 16 Servings) - cooking recipe

3/4 c. unbleached flour
1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Combine the flour, cocoa, sugar and salt, if desired, and stir to mix well.
Stir in the applesauce, egg whites and vanilla extract.
Fold in the nuts, if desired.
Coat an 8-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Spread the batter evenly in the pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 23 minutes or just until the edges are firm and the center is almost set.
Cool to room temperature and cut into square and serve.
